Watch Photographer

New York

Frank Castillo is an image maker and director specializing in timepieces, with more than fifteen years in the category. Since 2023 his work has filled a global watchmaker’s Fifth Avenue flagship: large-format prints, window vitrines and seasonal campaign displays refreshed twice a year. It is a body of work sustained season after season, at the standard a flagship demands.

He works from South Florida and is commissioned worldwide. Work is produced in the studio, with the product shipped in or brought by the client, and creative directors are welcome to attend the shoot. Selected projects can be shot on location where the piece or the campaign requires it.

The Work

  • Accutron Evolution Damascus on steel bracelet, campaign frame by watch photographer Frank Castillo, New York.

    CAMPAIGNS

Campaign photography for timepiece brands, built to hold at vitrine and billboard scale. Polished cases and mother-of-pearl dials are the hardest surfaces in the category to render cleanly at that size.

  • Gérald Genta Grande Sonnerie Retro Westminster Carillon dial in macro detail, watch photography by Frank Castillo.

    MACRO

Detail at the scale a collector reads: dial texture, finishing, movement architecture, and the tolerances that separate one caliber from the next. Photographed so the craftsmanship survives reproduction.

  • Accutron Astronaut GMT, frame from a timepiece campaign film directed by Frank Castillo, watch videographer New York.

    MOTION

Moving image directed alongside the stills rather than handed to a separate crew. Product films, macro video and social cutdowns that carry the same lighting and grade as the campaign frames. Broadcast work has aired on NBC.

Stills, motion and on-figure under one creative direction, concept through final frame. Frank Castillo photographs and directs for timepiece brands, houses and agencies working in New York, from a studio in South Florida. Commissions are taken worldwide.
