Image Maker & Director Specializing in Timepieces
Over more than fifteen years, Frank has built a practice around the materials that defeat most photographers — reflective metals, mother-of-pearl dials, polished cases — and the precision and restraint required to render them well.
Frank Castillo is an Image Maker and Director specializing in timepieces, with selected fine jewelry work.
His work spans three disciplines under one creative direction: stills, motion, and on-figure. Rather than delivering individual images, he directs the full visual output of a campaign, from concept through production to final frame — the kind of consistency that lets a brand hand him an entire season.
Since 2023, his work has filled a global watchmaker's Fifth Avenue flagship in New York — large-format prints, window vitrines, and seasonal campaign displays, refreshed twice a year. A body of work sustained season after season, at the standard a flagship demands.
That work is grounded in an unusual foundation. Frank holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the New England School of Art and Design and studied photography at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale — a designer's eye for layout, typography, and composition, applied to a field most enter through photography alone. His creative direction balances two sensibilities: the bold confidence of Rolex and the refined restraint of Cartier.
His photography has been published in Taschen's Ultimate Collector's Watches, which features his images of the Gerald Genta Grande Sonnerie. His subjects also include the Williamson Pink Star, the 11.15-carat Fancy Vivid Pink diamond that set the world record for price-per-carat at auction, $57.7 million.
His advertising work has appeared in The New York Times, Vogue, and Robb Report, and his motion work has been broadcast on NBC.
English and Spanish-fluent, Frank works from the Miami–Fort Lauderdale area with clients across the United States, Europe, and Latin America.
